Sunny and warm midweek at Lake Travis, then a breezy cool-down into the weekend
After Tuesday's front, the lake gets a picture-perfect stretch to start. The National Weather Service forecast for the Lakeway area calls for sunshine Wednesday with a high near 73 and calm wind, then a clear night with a low around 53. Thursday warms up to around 80 under sunny skies.
A north wind returns late Thursday night, with gusts up to 25 mph after midnight, and it sticks around Friday as highs slip to about 71. That's worth keeping in mind if you're planning time on open water. The weekend turns cooler, with highs in the upper 60s Saturday and Sunday, a 20% chance of showers Saturday night and lows dropping into the upper 40s by Sunday night. Early next week stays sunny with highs around 68 to 71.
On the water, the Texas Water Development Board's Water Data for Texas showed Lake Travis about 93.5% full at roughly 677.2 feet on Nov. 3, a few feet below the 681-foot full mark, and LCRA reported no floodgate operations expected at Mansfield Dam.
