Rain chances finally climb late this week, peaking Thursday night into Friday ahead of Halloween
The lake stays mild and mostly dry to start the week, with afternoons in the low to mid 80s and a cool, comfortable Monday morning in the upper 50s. Winds look light, which should make for easy days on the water.
A little Gulf moisture sneaks in Tuesday, bringing a 20 to 40 percent chance of isolated showers, though forecasters expect only a few tenths of an inch at most. Wednesday looks like a short break, with just a spotty shower possible.
The better shot at rain arrives Thursday afternoon and peaks late Thursday into Friday, when chances run 40 percent or higher across the area. Forecasters say part of that moisture plume may include leftovers from Hurricane Vance, and so far the rain looks beneficial rather than heavy. Chances taper off on Saturday, so Halloween plans may only need a backup for a passing shower.
