Dry Halloween night and a warm Sunday, then a Tuesday cold front brings storms and cooler air
Saturday starts out cloudy around the lake, with a 20% to 30% chance of a few leftover showers or some drizzle in the morning as the last piece of this week's storm system moves through Central Texas. Rain chances fade by midday. Clouds should start breaking up around 4 to 5 p.m., so trick-or-treating looks dry. Highs stay mild in the upper 60s to low 70s, with light northeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday and Monday turn fair, dry and warm, with morning lows in the mid-60s and afternoon highs in the mid-80s. That's good timing for Sunday's free Texas State Parks Day.
The next change arrives with a strong cold front Monday night into Tuesday, Election Day. The National Weather Service says the front could bring a line of showers and thunderstorms, and a few of the storms could be stronger. Breezy north winds behind the front will bring drier, cooler air, with morning lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s, which is closer to normal for early November. With Lake Travis already close to full, it's worth keeping an eye on Tuesday's rain totals.
Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour Saturday night. Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, and sunset moves up to about 5:43 p.m.
