Canyon Ranch Austin is now open in Spicewood, but there are no day passes for neighbors yet
Canyon Ranch Austin welcomed its first guests on Oct. 22 at 600 Moonlight Bend in Spicewood. The 600-acre wellness resort on Lake Travis has 141 hotel rooms, 134 residential units and a 40,000-square-foot spa that the company bills as the largest in Texas.
Stays are all-inclusive, covering meals at the on-site restaurants, the pool and fitness center, spa access and a full schedule of daily activities. Guests can also book personalized health services like sports medicine and body composition screening.
If you live nearby and were hoping to pop in for a spa afternoon or dinner, you'll have to wait. For now the resort runs on a stay-only model: you get in by booking at least two nights or owning one of its homes. The spa doesn't sell day passes, and the main restaurant, Estella, is limited to overnight guests and homeowners. The resort has left the door open to changing that, as some of its sister properties already do.
