Rain chances build toward Thursday and Friday, with flood risk highest west of Austin
The lake starts the week mild and mostly cloudy, with highs around the low 80s, but FOX 7's forecasters say the pattern turns wetter as the week goes on. Rain chances return Tuesday and build toward a peak Thursday into Friday.
Moisture tied to Hurricane Vance in the eastern Pacific is expected to stream into Texas even as the storm itself falls apart. Most of Central Texas is looking at roughly a half inch to an inch of rain through the weekend, and the western counties, which include the Lake Travis side of the Hill Country, are where heavier downpours and isolated flooding are most likely by Thursday.
If you have boat, dock or outdoor Halloween plans, keep an eye on the Thursday and Friday forecast and avoid low-water crossings if storms set up. Temperatures stay fairly steady in the low to mid 80s all week.
