Travis Club opens its Beau Welling-designed golf course along Lake Travis
Members have started playing the new golf course at Travis Club, the 1,500-acre private community on Lake Travis about 15 miles west of Austin, Golfweek reports. Beau Welling, an architect who often works with Tiger Woods on design projects, designed the course.
The course runs more than 7,300 yards from the back tees across steep, rocky Hill Country terrain with long views of the lake. Its signature hole is the par-3 fifth, which can play 240 yards across an inlet of Lake Travis. Welling said the team built in wide fairways and several tee options so the course works for golfers at every skill level.
Austin-based Castle Hill Partners is developing Travis Club with Haas & Haynie Corp. Plans call for about 700 homesites, a marina and boat club, lakefront dining, more than 30 miles of private trails and other amenities. A Golf House with a restaurant, bar and Trackman hitting bays is scheduled to open in spring 2027.
