State filing shows a $1.8 million SpiceQ restaurant and retail project planned on Hwy. 71 in Spicewood
A new restaurant and retail development called SpiceQ could be headed for the Hwy. 71 corridor in Spicewood. Community Impact found the project in a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The filing describes a building of more than 10,000 square feet at 5600 Hwy. 71 with an estimated cost of $1.8 million. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2027 and wrap up in July 2028. The registered owner is SpiceQ LLC, and the owner contact listed is Pavan Karnati, a Lakeway-based cardiologist.
The filing doesn't name any restaurant or retail tenants, so it's still unclear what SpiceQ will be. It adds to the steady stream of new projects along Hwy. 71 west of Bee Cave, where Spicewood has picked up new bars, restaurants and recreation spots this year.
