Scattered showers continued moving through parts of Central Texas late in the afternoon, bringing cooler air that dropped temperatures into the 80s and 90s for some areas. Overnight, readings settled into the 70s under partly to mostly cloudy skies as northwest winds calmed. The next day was expected to see highs climb back into the upper 90s and low 100s with a light north-northeast breeze and noticeably lower humidity.

Seasonable heat is forecast to persist into the following week, with highs near or above the triple-digit mark. Rain chances remain minimal from Sunday through late next week, and August as a whole is trending both drier and hotter than normal.
