Westlake volleyball is one win from the state tournament. The Chaparrals beat San Antonio O'Connor 25-19, 24-26, 25-18, 25-22 on Friday in the Class 6A Division II Region IV semifinals, improving to 39-9 on the season.

Next up is San Antonio Brandeis in the regional final at 7 p.m. Tuesday at New Braunfels Canyon High School. Brandeis reached the final by beating Laredo Alexander in four sets and comes in on a long winning streak, so the Chaps should expect a tough night.

It's a big week for lake-area volleyball overall. Lake Travis, a District 25-6A tri-champion with Westlake and Round Rock, plays Round Rock in the 6A Division I regional final at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Austin's Burger Center, with a state semifinal berth on the line for both local programs.
