Mid-80s and dry through the weekend at the lake, with the first rain chances in a while early next week

Oct 21, 2026 · 8:06 AM|1 min read|7 readers|By National Weather Service

It's another great stretch for getting out on Lake Travis. The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio expects sunny to mostly sunny skies today through Friday, with highs in the mid-80s, light winds around 5 mph and cool mornings in the upper 50s.

The weekend stays rain-free, with partly cloudy skies and highs slipping into the lower 80s on Saturday and Sunday. Forecasters say a high-pressure ridge over Mexico and Texas is keeping things warm and dry through Saturday.

Change arrives early next week. A slight chance of showers returns Monday afternoon, rising to about 30% Monday night and 40% Tuesday morning, when highs may only reach the upper 70s. Rain totals look light, so don't count on much help for the lake.
