If your route to the lake crosses Mansfield Dam, build in some extra time. TxDOT crews are working on the RM 620 bridge in front of the dam, repairing expansion joints, upgrading the bridge railings and resurfacing the road, and the City of Lakeway says drivers should expect ongoing lane closures there through the middle of next year. The heaviest backups are likely during the morning and afternoon commutes.

Closer to Rough Hollow, crews are also installing raised crosswalks near the roundabout at Highlands Boulevard and Bee Creek Road to make the area safer for kids walking to nearby schools. Minor delays are expected there over the next few weeks.

Lakeway also notes that Austin Energy contractors and LCRA crews will be trimming trees and clearing vegetation around power lines across the city for about the next month as they prepare the system for winter, so watch for work crews along the roadside.
