A life-threatening Flash Flood Emergency is in effect this morning along the Pedernales River in Gillespie and Blanco counties. Residents near the river should be prepared to evacuate to higher ground immediately if necessary. Additional Flash Flood Emergencies remain active southwest of the area, including along the Guadalupe River and in Uvalde County.

A Flood Watch continues until noon Friday amid slow-moving, heavy rainfall over the already saturated Hill Country, where flooding is now inevitable in many spots. The Weather Prediction Center has issued its highest risk level (4 out of 4) for parts of Gillespie and Mason counties, with some areas already seeing extreme rainfall totals. Authorities urge drivers to never enter flooded roadways and to stay informed through multiple alert sources. High temperatures will remain below normal today before warming up over the weekend.
