Heavy rain and flash floods prompted water rescue efforts in Central Texas on Tuesday, July 14. The Austin Fire Department responded to reports of three people submerged in floodwaters along Shoal Creek in North Central Austin, near the intersection of MoPac and FM 2222 at around 2200 Hancock Drive. Crews, along with Austin-Travis County EMS medics, searched the area after receiving the reports shortly before 8 a.m.

No individuals were located during the search, leading officials to demobilize the scene. The incident highlighted the dangers of even brief heavy rainfall, with a local meteorologist noting that just one inch in 30 minutes had put lives at risk. Broader warnings remain in place, as the National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for parts of South Central Texas through Thursday night, urging residents to stay weather-aware amid the ongoing wet pattern.
