Lake Travis Fishing Report - June 20218,543 Readers ![]() ![]() Water Temp: 76 degrees The water level on Lake Travis is steadily rising from the widespread rain we had last week. This much needed rain has “recharged” our watershed. Not only is water flowing in at higher rates than normal from the Pedernales and Lake Marble Falls but it is leeching in via every ditch and drain across the lake. The lake is up over 5 ½ ft. as of the writing of this report and expect it to rise a little more. Before the rain, bass were holding in traditional post spawn areas around marinas, points, and offshore ledges. There are still plenty of fish around marinas but, with the rising water level, the offshore ledge fish I’ve found have scattered out. On recent guide trips, I’ve been targeting schooling fish around marinas first thing in the morning. These schooling fish are eating very small threadfin shad and are hunting in small “wolf packs.” Small top waters (Pop-R and walking baits), small paddle-tail swimbaits, and wacky rigged stick baits have been producing the best. Most of our bites have been coming when the bait is cast right on fish that are actively chasing and eating shad on top. If you’re late getting your lure in there, your chances of getting bit are diminished significantly. Guided Fishing Trips I still have some availability for June and good availability in July.
