A tropical low pressure system will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Texas Gulf Coast this weekend, impacting beach plans with intermittent rain and gusty winds. Austin will see a 40% chance of rain, with lower chances in the Hill Country, and rainfall totals between 0.1 and 0.5 inches. Southeast Texas, particularly Houston, faces heavier rain (1-2 inches) and a low risk of flash flooding.

Temperatures in Austin will stay in the low to mid-90s, cooler than recent triple-digit highs. Lake Travis is open for recreation, but caution is advised. Next week, expect a return to hot, dry conditions with temperatures near 100°F, and another low pressure system may increase rain chances by early August.
