One person suffered minor injuries after a biplane crashed on Lake Travis Saturday afternoon.

The plane took off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and crashed shortly after 4 p.m. near Windy Point and Bob Wentz Park. EMS said that all three occupants, a pilot and two passengers, were able to exit the plane. One person had minor injuries, but none were transported to the hospital.

Witnesses reported hearing the plane engine sputter before the plane crashed.

Travis County Sheriff's Office Lake Patrol placed a black buoy where the plane crashed and eventually sank. DPS says that the plane will stay submerged in Lake Travis until the owner's insurance pays for it to be removed.

Once the plane is removed, the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the cause of the crash.
