Most of Lake Austin reopens, Lady Bird Lake remains closed

The ban on Lake Austin expires at noon Wednesday. However, the Austin Fire Department has said the lake will only be open during daylight hours. APD’s Lake Patrol will monitor lake conditions to keep swimmers and boaters safe.

Parts of the waterway will remain closed from Oyster Landing to Tom Miller Dam until safety buoy lines that were swept away in flooding are replaced. The docks near Hula Hut will also stay closed, according to Austin police.

Lady Bird Lake will stay closed as excessive amounts of water continue to flow. The lake will be reevaluated June 16 at noon.
