Lake Travis Library features local artist’s unique perspective photo

An exhibit featuring work by local artist Larry Elliott continues through June 29 at the Lake Travis Community Library, 1938 Lohmans Crossing Road.

Photography has been a life-long hobby for Elliott. His father’s gift of an old Argus 35-milemeter camera ignited his passion. The classic camera led to a custom, in-home darkroom and active participation in camera club competitions in his hometown in Michigan.

With the development of digital photography, Elliott now has unlimited options in processing and modifying photographic images. His images are more about color and design than faithful image reproduction, resulting in eye catching results. Over the last year, his style has evolved so that the images appear more like digital paintings than photographs. Elliott explains that the process opens up a new opportunity for expression in his photography.

Elliott will host a special reception at the library Sunday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. A portion of all sale proceeds will benefit the library.
