Authorities have released the identity of the drowning victim who was swimming at Bob Wentz Park on Sunday.

Travis County Officials say 27-year-old Miguel Angel Martinez Aguilar of Austin was swimming in the cove when he became distressed. A person swimming with him called for help and two people from shore swam out to help. By the time they got to Aguilar, he was already under water.

They took him to shore and began CPR. Aguilar never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead.

The Travis County's preliminary investigation shows Aguilar accidentally drown, however, the medical examiner's office has not ruled on an official cause of death, pending the results of a toxicology test.
