People are starting to take notice.

Marble Falls was honored by the coaches of District 25-4A by placing 19 players on the All-District Team.

“This was a team with a lot of specific goals,” coach Cord Woerner said just minutes after his team won its first playoff game in 16 years against Austin Crockett. “They worked hard all year to get to where they are, and they deserve everything they received.”

Austin Sparks, David Morgan, Jacob Cernosek, and Cyril Lemon were all named to the first team. No small feat considering the district featured state champion Lake Travis and quarterfinalist Cedar Park.

Sparks and Morgan both had standout playoff games. Morgan caught nine passes for 204 yards against Boerne Champion and Sparks scored four touchdowns against Crockett to help secure the Mustangs’ home playoff win.

Sparks was the No. 2 rusher in the district with 159 attempts for 864 yards and 10 touchdowns, and carried the ball more than any other player in the district.

Morgan was tops in the district in reciving yards with 968. He also finished first in touchdowns with 12. Morgan’s 54 receptions were just five behind Griffin Gilbert of Lake Travis for the district lead.

Lemon helped pave the way for the Mustang offense by anchoring it up front.

Fellow lineman Michell Clark earned second-team honors, along with reciver Ralph Woods.

Defensively defensive end Isaiah Vidal and linebacker Logan Clark received first-team honors, while lineman Blake Ripple, linebacker Dalton Ryan, and safety Taylor Cauble were second-teamers.

Zed Woerner led the list of honorable mention honorees. Woerner was the district’s second leading passer behind Texas Tech-bound Michael Brewer. Woerner completed 111-of-184 for 1,614 yards. Woerner also added 270 yards on the ground.

Ryan Garcia, Tarron Machen, Trey Salazar, Crockett Savage, Tanner Rowland, Payce Goldsmith, and Stephen Castillo were also named to the honorable mention ranks.
