OASIS,
Texas – the new retail and restaurant village located next to the
renowned Oasis restaurant on the cliffs of Lake Travis is welcoming its
latest addition, Soleil, on this evening (Nov. 15).
Soleil is a Mediterranean-Italian seafood restaurant created by the
Schiller Del Grande Restaurant Group and delivers a bountiful menu
guided by Chef Robert Del Grande. Leading the Soleil
kitchen is what the restaurant describes as an emerging Austin talent
who has garnered a local following, Chef George Thomas, formerly of Kenichi, Paggi House, Maiko Sushi Lounge and Imperia Sushi Bar & Lounge.
Soleil’s menu showcases antipasti dishes, stone oven-roasted
specialties such as shrimp meatballs in creamy tomato sauce,
southern-fried delights like crabmeat beignets with tartar sauce; and,
of course, freshly-caught seafood selections including grilled salmon
with chickpeas and salsa rosa; striped bass with smoked mussel chorizo
and Mediterranean salsa verde; and split grilled Maine lobster with
garlic butter. Plates range between $21-$39. House-made pastas and
pizzas round out Soleil’s menu, and its Azure Lounge Seafood Bar,
features fresh oysters, shellfish, crab, shrimp, lobster, sashimi and
ceviche.
Oasis, designed by Dick Clark Architecture, has about 35 boutique retail shops and is about 450 feet above the cliffs of Lake Travis,
But Soleil isn’t the only new player to appear in the Oasis.
Upstairs from Soleil is Uncle Billy’s Brew and Que. Combined, the two
restaurants amass a magnificent 38,000 square feet of lakefront space.
Uncle Billy’s, a rustic Texas smokehouse, serves family-style
barbecue and handcrafted ales and lagers. Developed from scratch by the
highly-regarded award winning Brewmaster Brian Peters,
these ales and microbrews are made with malted barley and aromatic hops.
The Oasis, Texas location is the sister site of the Uncle Billy’s on
Barton Springs Road.
Soleil and Uncle Billy’s are part of the new Oasis, Texas development
underway.
