Recent heavy rainfall has dramatically improved water levels at several Austin-area lakes, providing relief to Central Texas residents and outdoor enthusiasts as summer begins. Lake Pflugerville reached full capacity as of mid-June, thanks to community conservation efforts and infrastructure repairs. The north Austin suburb had faced severe water restrictions and the risk of running out of water earlier in the year, but officials now confirm the lake—its primary water source—is stable, with plans for upgraded filtration equipment to handle peak demand.
Other major lakes in the region are also in strong shape. Lake Austin stands at 97.9% full, Lake Travis has risen to 85.7% (an 11% increase from May), while Lake Georgetown and Granger Lake remain at 100% capacity. Lake Marble Falls is at 95.2% and Lake LBJ at 98.5%, making conditions ideal for recreation across the Highland Lakes area.
