Hutson, Morse & Martin make the grade

Three area football players were named to Randy Rodgers’ third annual Preseason All-Academic Team. Rodgers, a recruiting analyst for Texas Football Magazine, put the team together by recognizing upcoming seniors in the state of Texas who have a GPA of 3.0 or better and an SAT or ACT score of at least 1000 or 21. The players were nominated by high school coaches and counselors.

Lexington running back Clinton Hutson, St. Michael’s offensive lineman Mitch Morse and Stony Point defensive back Desmond Martin all made the first team.

Westlake quarterback Tanner Price, Lake Travis running back Andy Erickson and Connally linebacker Zac Aossey were on the second team. Making the honorable mention list were St. Andrews offensive lineman Michael Fitzpatrick, Lake Travis linebacker Ian Lazarus, Hill Country Christian linebacker A.J. Sanchez and Cedar Park kicker T.J. Johnson.
