Rain continues through the weekend in Austin, with soggy conditions for ACL Festival and a chance of isolated flooding where the ground is already saturated. Saturday’s rain coverage is around 60%, with on-and-off showers and downpours that could be heavy at times and dry spells in between. Clouds and rain keep highs in the upper 70s, with light northeast winds. KXAN says Day 2 of ACL calls for rain boots, a poncho or rain jacket, and muddy grounds. Overnight lows fall into the low 70s, with a few scattered showers and winds picking up behind a cold front.

Sunday is a bit warmer, with highs in the low 80s as the sun breaks through in the afternoon, but periodic showers and some heavy rain remain likely. Weekend totals are forecast at a quarter-inch to 1 inch, with isolated amounts up to 2 inches that could flood already wet spots. North winds could gust to 30 mph, and breezy conditions last into the start of the work week. Drier air moves in next week, dropping overnight lows into the 60s. Highs climb back to the upper 80s by late week, near normal for early October.
