Strong Thunderstorms Usher in Cold Front to South-Central Texas

Strong thunderstorms, with reports of golf ball-sized hail, came sweeping through South-Central Texas overnight.  The Express News reports that the Sea World area of San Antonio and West Bexar County started getting hit by the hail around 11:30 last night ahead of strong thunderstorms that are the result of a cold front mixing with the warm moist air that had settled over the region the last few days.

Although we do still have some minor rain chances today, for the most part, the storms are over.  Rainfall amounts vary across the region from just a trace to nearly an inch of rain, especially in areas south and east of San Antonio and Bexar County, although a 2nd squall line also dropped quite a bit of rain along the I-35 corridor, from New Braunfels to Austin.  And now that the front has moved through, we should see much cooler temperatures for the next few days, with today’s high only reaching 75.
