After all recreational, commercial, and navigational uses were banned on Lake Travis late Friday due to the impacts of flash floods that hit Central Texas over the July 4 weekend, Travis County Judge Andy Brown has opened Lake Travis with the exception of areas upstream of mile marker 36 and Sandy Creek Park.

Still, Brown says he does not recommend recreational activity in Lake Travis.
