Brush fire crews and helicopters are battling a large brush fire in West Travis County that started around 2 p.m. on Monday.
The fire is located near Thurman Bend Road, east of the Briarcliff area. That is off Hwy 71 on the south shore of Lake Travis.
Starflight is assisting Travis County firefighters and others to battle the fire, which is estimated to be about 30 acres, though firefighters say they cannot get a good idea of the scene because of the high level of smoke in the air.
