Officials want lake-goers to take a look at what lurks beneath Lake Travis.

A scuba team descended to the bottom of the lake to clean up the accumulated trash.

The organization told us party barge operators do a good job of informing guests it is up to them to clean up and properly dispose of trash.

However, last year they said almost six tons of trash had to be picked up off the bottom of the lake.

The diving team will hold a clean-up Sunday, Sept. 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. There will also be an after-party at The Oasis from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
