Austin Water, in collaboration with the City of Austin’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management, will conduct an emergency training exercise on October 1, 2025, at the Ullrich Water Treatment Plant from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The exercise aims to enhance the utility’s preparedness for emergencies by simulating a response to a water system incident. It will involve multiple agencies, including Austin Water staff, Austin Fire Department, Austin-Travis County EMS, and other city and regional partners, to test and improve response plans, communication, and operational coordination.

Residents near the Ullrich Water Treatment Plant, located at 1000 Forest View Dr., may notice increased activity, including emergency vehicles and signage, but there will be no disruption to water services. This training underscores Austin Water’s commitment to ensuring a safe and reliable water supply.
