ESPN RISE has put together it list of juniors who are sure to be on the
top of every college's radar and All-American lists heading into their
senior seasons.
SECOND TEAM OFFENSE
WR Nick Brassell, South Panola (Batesville, Miss.) 6-1, 180
The next star to emerge from powerhouse South Panola earned all-state honors this fall after catching 63 passes for 1,272 yards and 16 touchdowns in a traditionally run-heavy offense.
WR Robert Joseph, Northwestern (Rock Hill, S.C.) 5-10, 170
He set a new state-record with 150 catches that went for 1,843 yards and 20 scores. His quarterback, Justin Worley, just missed getting a spot on this team as well.
TE Jay Rome, Valdosta (Ga.) 6-6, 235
The son of former Valdosta legend Stan Rome is making his own name for himself. He caught 33 passes for 580 yards and earned AAAAA all-state honors last fall and is also a talented hoops prospect.
OL Brey Cook, Har-Ber (Springdale, Ark.) 6-6, 300
This big man is pushing to be the top prospect in Arkansas in the Class of 2011 and has already collecting offers from the likes of Oklahoma and Miami.
OL Conor Hanratty, New Canaan (Conn.) 6-5, 295
Another member of the all-bloodlines team is Hanratty since he is the son of former Notre Dame QB Terry Hanratty. He earned all-state honors from The Haven Register.
OL Trey Pettis, DeLand (Fla.) 6-5, 295
This true center paved the way for DeLand's run to the Class 6A title game in the Sunshine State. The Orlando Sentinel All-Central Florida selection has already committed to Florida State.
OL Ryne Reeves, Crete (Neb.) 6-4, 290
An early commit to Nebraska, Reeves was a Lincoln Star-Journal Super all-state selection and posted a very impressive 70.71 SPARQ Rating at the Boulder Nike Combine last spring.
OL Zach West, Lexington Christian (Lexington, Ky.) 6-5, 300
Small school standout helped Lexington Christian to the Class A title in Kentucky, earning consensus all-state honors in the process. He's already being courted by the likes of Ohio State and Notre Dame.
QB Michael Brewer, Lake Travis (Austin, Texas) 6-1, 170
There was hardly any drop-off at Lake Travis as Brewer stepped in for departed 2008 EA SPORTS National Player of the Year Garrett Gilbert and passed for 4,450 yards and 43 scores. He also led the Cavaliers to a 16-0 record and third straight Class 4A Division II state title.
RB Malcolm Brown, Steele (Schertz, Texas) 6-0, 205
The Class 4A all-state selection leads a terrific group of Texas backs in the Class of '11. He rumbled for 2,170 yards and 33 scores and nearly took out Lake Travis' win streak himself with a 35-carry, 299-yard performance in a 27-20 playoff loss.
RB Damarcus James, Demopolis (Ala.) 5-10, 195
The Alabama sportswriters' Class 5A Back of the Year ran for 2,512 yards and 19 touchdowns on a whopping 380 carries this fall. He lifted Demopolis to the Class 5A state title.
RB Darrian Miller, Blue Springs (Mo.) 5-10, 185
The Gatorade State Player of the Year as a junior posted staggering numbers, including 2,799 yards rushing and 40 touchdowns.
K Collin Ditsworth, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) 6-0, 181
The Class 4A all-state selection helped Bishop Gorman to a state title by connecting on 6-of-7 field goals as well as an eye-opening 106 extra points.
