After leading Lake Travis to consecutive Class 4A state championships, Chad Morris reportedly is listening to career options at the college level.

Although there is no position currently open on the University of Tulsa coaching staff, the buzz around the athletic department centers on the football team’s interest in hiring Morris. Morris uses the same hurry-up, no-huddle offense employed by former Tulsa coach Gus Malzahn. The Tulsa World, citing a source, said Morris might meet with athletic officials this week.

Rumors have spread that Morris has also had talks with his alma mater, Texas A&M, as well as another NCAA Division I school.

TheOldCoach.com, Rivals.com’s site for Texas High School football, talked to Morris on Monday.

“There are some options,” Morris told the website. “But nothing has been done … I have not put a time to a decision.”

According to the website, Morris also said, “I’m perfectly happy at Lake Travis. But if there might be a right fit somewhere … there could be some options.”
