The Lake Travis school district will close school early Friday as a precaution to inclement weather.

The district released the following notification:

Due to the timing and unpredictability of the forecasted winter weather, completion of bus routes prior to worsening weather and/or road conditions, and to allow our parents and guardians ample planning time, all LTISD elementary school students will be released at 11:45 a.m., Hudson Bend Middle School and Lake Travis High School students will be released at 12:45 p.m., and Lake Travis Middle School students will be released at 12:55 p.m., Friday, December 4.

Although classes will be abbreviated, please note that all regular instructional day services—including bus transportation and meals—will continue to be provided.

However, the District’s Extended Care program and all after school activities have been canceled. Extracurricular and athletic activities, including Friday night’s Lake Travis High School football playoff game in San Marcos, will be held as scheduled, weather permitting.

Further weather-related changes will be posted on our District and campus Web sites, as needed. The same information may be obtained via telephone by calling the LTISD Weather Hotline at (512) 533-6099.

Information will also be communicated via our local news media as well as through the District’s QuickNews electronic notification system.
