Some school activities canceled due to weather

Austin ISD officials Friday canceled athletic events and
after-school programs and activities after 6 p.m. Friday, out of
concern that weather conditions could deteriorate and travel could be
icy in and around Austin.
So far, only one area school district is releasing students early on Friday.
All Lake Travis ISD elementary schools will be released at 11:45
a.m. Students at Lake Travis High School and Hudson Bend Middle
School will be released at 12:45 p.m. Lake Travis Middle School will
end the school day at 12:55 p.m.
Weather permitting, Lake Travis High School's football playoff game in San Marcos, will be held as scheduled.

Because no significant snow accumulation is expected on area
roadways, the City of Austin Thursday said it is not recommending
facility closures and it does not anticipate road closures. Crews are
on standby just in case.
