The Lake Travis Cavaliers volleyball team improved their record to 44-3 this past weekend, beating Boerne Champion in the playoffs.
Lake Travis is on a mission and we're not talking football. The varsity volleyball team is on their way to winning state with a sophomore laden team that includes 16-year-old Amy Neal.
Neal had 30 kills against A&M Consolidated a little over a week ago.
Neal said she knew she was going to have a good game by the way she was hitting in warm-ups.
"We just all connected really well with the setters," she said.
The Cavaliers are the epitome of team with their motto: T1M2, team first and me second.
"We do everything for each other first. On the court we communicate, and we never get mad at each other. We know what we're good at and our weaknesses. We can just back each other up on everything," Neal said.
The Cavaliers made it to the state tournament last year, but came up just short falling to Highland Park in five sets. This year it's motivating Neal and the rest of the team to take it just a little further.
"We want to redeem ourselves and go out there and just win it all," Neal said.
Lake Travis continues their drive for state with a game Tuesday night. Neal is doing her part to lead the Cavs back to the 4A State Finals in San Marcos a week from this coming Saturday.
