With one week remaining in the regular season, some teams are scrambling to secure the final playoff spots in their districts. No district may be more intriguing that District 25-5A where four teams will go into the final week fighting for two playoff spots.

After the jump are the playoff scenarios for the Central Texas Class 5A and 4A districts. The schools’ records in district play are listed in parenthesis.

District 12-5A: The playoff representatives for this district have been determined. Bryan (5-1) and A&M Consolidated(4-2) will be in the Division I bracket while Belton (5-1) and Copperas Cove (4-2) will be in the Division II bracket.

District 16-5A: The playoff representatives for this district have been determined. Stony Point (5-1) and Westwood (4-2) will be in the Division I bracket while Cedar Park (5-1) and Leander (5-1) will be in the Division II bracket.

District 25-5A: Bastrop (6-0) and Westlake (5-1) have already clinched playoff berths but there are four teams still eligible for the last two spots. Austin High (3-3) and Pflugerville (3-3) can get into the playoffs with a win next week against, respectively, Anderson and Connally. Bowie can get in with a win over Bastrop and either an Austin High or Pflugerville loss. Anderson gets in with a win over Austin High and a Bowie loss. Should Anderson win and Austin High, Pflugerville and Bowie all lose, the last two playoff spots would go to Anderson and Pflugerville.

District 26-5A: New Braunfels (4-3) can clinch a playoff spot next week with a win over San Antonio MacArthur.

District 17-4A: Del Valle (4-0), Hays (3-1) and Manor (2-2) have all clinched a playoff spot. Lehman (1-3) gets into the playoffs with a win next week against Hays while Elgin (1-3) will get in with a win over Del Valle and a Lehman loss. Lockhart (1-3) gets in with a win over Manor and losses by Lehman and Elgin. Should the three teams all win or all lose, Lehman would get into the playoffs.

District 26-4A: Lake Travis (5-0) and Killeen (4-1) are in while Hendrickson (3-2) just needs a win over Killeen or a Marble Falls loss to Lake Travis. The last playoff spot will likely go to the winner of the Friday game between Hutto (2-3) and Lampasas (2-3). However, if Marble Falls upsets Lake Travis and both Hutto and Hendrickson lose, the Mustangs will be placed in the Division II bracket with Hendrickson.

District 26-4A: McCallum (5-0), LBJ (4-1) and Travis (3-2) have all secured playoff berth. The last playoff spot will go to the winner of Thursday’s showdown between Lanier (1-3) and Crockett (1-3).

District 27-4A: The three Central Texas teams in this district - New Braunfels Canyon, San Marcos and Seguin - have been eliminated from playoff contention.
