Most would call it a career-night. Michael Brewer just called it another rung on the ladder.

After passing for 324 yards and notching five TDs, the Lake Travis junior shrugged off his personal effort.

"We've all got the goal of being a team of all-district players," said Brewer, who completed 15-of-17 passes in the Cavaliers' highest offensive output this year. "To put up 58 points, that's 11 guys playing the whole game. That's 11 guys who want to win (state)."

Hard to believe, but this was the toughest test remaining on the Cavaliers schedule, whose 38th consecutive victory matched Liberty Hill's streak that ended last year.

Lake Travis (8-0, 4-0 District 25-4A) busted off 501 yards, trumping Kenny Williams' game-high 149 rushing yards for Hendrickson (4-2, 2-1). Jack Patton led the Cavaliers with five catches for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Cavaliers scored on their first eight possessions after the Hawks took a 7-0 lead on Williams' 52-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter.

With its defense holding the Hawks to 63 yards over their next five possessions, Lake Travis evened the game on Taylor Winkle's 21-yard run 3:14 into the first quarter and went ahead 14-7 on Brewer's 11-yard keeper.

Hendrickson clawed its way to 65 second-quarter yards but never moved closer than the Cavalier 41. Brewer took over, connecting on seven passes for 150 yards in the second quarter while orchestrating scoring drives of 70 and 92 yards over the final 3:32 of the half to build the 30.

Reserve running back Michael Pojman gave Lake Travis its largest point total of the season with a 43-yard run with 4:02 left.
