Longview's 31-7 win over former district rival Tyler Lee kept the Lobos in the top spot in the Class 4A ranks with the release of the weekly Associated Press high school football poll today.

The Lobos (2-0), who received 22 of 25 first-place votes, will host Natchitoches (La.) Central at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The top three spots in Class 4A stayed the same, with the Lobos in front of Lake Travis and Denton Guyer. Denison, No. 4 a week ago, fell out of the Top 10 with a loss, and Longview's District 13-4A rival Sulphur Springs moved into the poll at No. 10 following a 36-26 win over Whitehouse.

Lake Travis earned the other three first-place votes.

In Class 3A, Gilmer (2-0) remained No. 1 and Carthage (2-0) No. 2. Gilmer rolled to a 76-12 win over Rains and earned all 25 first-place votes, while Carthage rallied for a 14-13 win over arch-rival Henderson. Celina dropped from third to sixth, while West Orange-Stark and Giddings both moved up a spot this week.

In Class 2A, Daingerfield remained at No. 1 and Arp at No. 2. Daingerfield earned 19 first-place votes, Arp four and No. 3 Bushland a couple of first-place votes.

The Class 5A poll was shaken up with previous No. 1 Katy's loss to The Woodlands. Cedar Hill moved from second to first and Euless Trinity from fourth to second. Cedar Hill earned 20 first-place votes, Euless Trinity three and Dallas Skyline (No. 5) and The Woodlands (No. 9) one first-place vote apiece.

The Class A poll remained unchanged from top to bottom, with Albany at No. 1. Five different teams did receive first-place votes, including No. 2 Alto with four, No. 3 Quinlan Boles with three, No. 4 Canadian with three and No. 5 Stratford with two.

East Texas teams earning votes this week but not cracking the Top 10 were John Tyler in 5A and Pleasant Grove, Van and Diboll in 3A.
