Week 2 Preview

Thursday Games to Watch

Anderson (1-0) vs Hays (0-1) @ House Park 7pm

Connally (0-0) vs Stony Point (1-0) @ RRISD Athletic Complex 7pm

Friday Games to watch

Westlake (1-0) @ Lake Travis (1-0) 7:30 pm

Lake Travis has the sixth longest winning streak in the nation at 31 straight games. The Cavs had not lost in 727 days, and this could end on Friday. Westlake has a very strong defense led by Louie Swope who is known for his punishing hits (video below) and has the best chance to defeat Lake Travis since they handed the Cavs their last defeat back in September of '07. If the Chaps can win, they become the favorite in District 25-5A.

Austin High (1-0) vs McCallum (0-1) @ House Park 7:30 pm

The Knights don't have to win this game, but they need to keep themselves close. It's really a tune up game for both teams, the Maroons should take care of the Knights easily, and the Knights need to work on the little things to get ready for district play in a few weeks.
