Bee Cave has a full calendar of free community events this fall, according to a column by Mayor Kara King in the Statesman's Lake Travis View.
The city's Haunted Trail returns Oct. 22 and 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. on the trail behind Chick-fil-A. Because of its scary scenes, it is recommended for ages 13 and up.
Younger kids have their own option on Oct. 25, when Trunk or Treat runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hill Country Galleria and local businesses hand out candy. The 18th annual Rolling Sculpture Car Show, featuring antique and specialty vehicles, takes place the same day. Admission is free, and proceeds benefit the Bee Cave Friends of the Library. Registering a car in the show costs a fee.
Later in the season, Bee Cave on Ice brings outdoor ice skating to the city beginning Nov. 13. The mayor also encouraged residents to shop locally during the holidays, since sales tax revenue helps keep the city's property tax rate low.
