Labor Day is over, but Austin’s summer heat is not. Tuesday’s highs were expected back in the upper 90s to low 100s — likely Austin’s 40th triple-digit day of the year — under mostly sunny skies. Heat-index values were forecast between 100 and 108. A few isolated afternoon showers were possible with the sea breeze, but most of the area was expected to stay dry.

High pressure stays in charge the rest of the week, so each day looks similar: hot, humid, and mostly to partly sunny. Afternoon highs hover at or near 100 in Austin for the next seven days, with heat-index values running about 6–7 degrees higher, often at or above 105. Rain chances stay at or below 10% all week and slightly favor spots east of I-35.
