Volunteer registration is now open for the 32nd Annual Lake Travis Cleanup, which will take place Sunday, Sept. 20, from 9–11 a.m. The annual event brings together scuba divers, shoreline volunteers and park volunteers to remove trash and debris from Lake Travis and the surrounding areas. Cleanup efforts will span 14 sites across seven Travis County parks, along with multiple dive sites and shoreline neighborhoods.
Organizers say volunteers will focus on removing litter from shorelines, creeks and parks that feed into the Texas Colorado River Basin. Participants can register to work at participating parks or join neighborhood cleanup efforts, while divers can sign up through participating dive shops and organizations. Everyone who volunteers will receive an event T-shirt, and participants can also compete in annual contests recognizing unusual finds and standout cleanup efforts.
