Texas lakes are bouncing back. This one is telling a different story

Many Texas reservoirs are still recovering after years of drought, but Lake Marble Falls is not part of that rebound story. As of August 28, the lake was about 95.8% full, holding roughly 7,281 acre-feet of water with a mean level of 736.48 feet. A year earlier it was already 95.1% full. Unlike Canyon Lake, Lake Travis, and Lake Corpus Christi — which dropped far lower and then rose more dramatically — Marble Falls has stayed near capacity.
The lake has moved up and down in 2026, but only within a narrow range. It was 91.1% full on May 28, 94.6% on July 28, and briefly hit 97.4% on August 21 before easing slightly. Six months ago it was 96.1% full. Heavy rain has helped refill many Central Texas lakes that spent years at low levels; Marble Falls has simply stayed high the whole time.
