The body of a Lake Travis swimmer who went underwater on Saturday and failed to resurface was recovered by authorities, the Travis County Sheriffs Office reported. The emergency call came in just after noon, with initial rescue efforts by ATCEMS in the 19000 block of Silver Maple Drive near Austin before the operation shifted to recovery.

Lake patrol deputies used sonar and remotely operated underwater cameras to search the area where the swimmer was last seen. The body was located that evening at a depth of 114 feet and recovered by Morgan’s Point Resort Divers. Officials stated there is no indication of criminal activity, and the victims identity was not released.

Assistance was provided by Texas Game Wardens, the Lower Colorado River Authority, Travis County Fire Rescue, Travis County Parks, and STAR Flight.
