Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) Public Information Officer Clara Tuma explained that unsecured boats and docks can occasionally wash downstream during flooding, and open floodgates create the potential for watercraft to be drawn through them.

LCRA encourages owners to keep docks secured at all times and to secure boats and other watercraft whenever they are not in use.
