Body recovered from Lake Travis after search

A body was recovered from Lake Travis after a swimmer disappeared in late June near Bob Wentz Park, according to the Travis County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies with TCSO's Lake Patrol responded around 6:23 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2026, to a 911 call reporting a man missing in the main channel of the lake. Rescue efforts were unsuccessful, and the operation shifted to recovery around 7:20 p.m. The following afternoon, the body was located using the sheriff's remotely operated underwater camera system and recovered by Texas Game Warden divers.
