The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) partially opened floodgates Monday morning at the dam on Lake Bastrop and at Lake Austin’s Tom Miller Dam. Lake Austin reached its upper operating range of 492.8 feet around 7:15 a.m., while Lake Bastrop exceeded its upper limit at the same time. Both structures began releasing water around 8:00 a.m. to manage the elevated levels.

Other LCRA-monitored lakes remained below their upper limits, with Lake Travis still at least 10 feet under its top line. The last time the Tom Miller Dam partially opened was in 2025 during Independence Day flooding. KXAN meteorologist Kristen Currie contributed to the report.
