Lago Vista looks to resolve backlog of stalled developments

The City of Lago Vista is working to address a significant backlog of stalled residential and mixed-use developments along Lake Travis. Hundreds of acres across multiple projects — some as large as 565 acres — have seen little to no municipal progress or construction activity for years, leaving prime Hill Country land dormant despite strong regional housing demand.
City leaders are now moving to unfreeze several long-delayed sites, aiming to clear outdated or inactive approvals and encourage developers to break ground. This effort could help unlock much-needed housing in the growing lakeside community while streamlining the local development pipeline.
