After a mild start to January 2026 in Central Texas, the KVUE Storm Team is tracking two upcoming weather systems. First, a low-pressure system will bring scattered showers and overcast skies on Tuesday, primarily as rain with temperatures staying well above freezing—mainly affecting the morning commute.

Looking ahead to the weekend, a cold front is expected to push through Saturday evening, ushering in significantly colder air. While some computer models suggest a slight chance for a few snowflakes or a light wintry mix as the cold air catches up to retreating moisture, confidence remains very low due to disagreements among models on the track and available moisture. Significant accumulations are unlikely given warm ground temperatures, and major travel impacts are not anticipated. The KVUE Weather team will continue monitoring for updates.
