As the levels in Lake Travis continue to drop, more and more boaters are looking to launch in other area lakes, and many, like Lake Austin, are much smaller in size.
"When you get an increase in traffic and you have boaters driving wherever they want, it makes my job harder to keep it safe, and it scares a lot of other people too. So they don't even want to come out, even if they live on the water," APD Lake Patrol Officer Adam Soliz said.
Officials said they've seen a large increase in the number of boats, but also in the size of the boats.
