Rains Haven't Solved Central Texas Drought Problems

Despite the flooding that submerged homes and roads in the Austin area, the heavy rains fell downstream from the Highland Lakes, where they were needed most, according to YNN Austin. Lakes Travis and Buchanan remain only one-third full. "If this drought were to continue," said one water expert, "we are going to have a lot of cities and water suppliers in Central Texas and throughout the state with water shortages.”
